Structure and Principle (With Picture)
The desander is comprised of stainless steel feed inlet, discharge outlet(overflow pipe), conical ceramic cyclone, conical stainless steel tank, automatic or manual sand dump valve, back wash water valve, and so on.
Structure principle drawing of desander.
When the starch slurry is pumped into the desander, the lighter material is discharged from the overflow pipe, the heavier material is collected in the sand hopper and discharged by the sand dump valve.
Adjusting the flow rate of the backwash water is important to keep the high efficiency of the desanding process. If the water pressure is too high, smaller sand will flow into the starch from the overflow pipe; if the water pressure is too low, starch will drop with the sand.
The input pressure should be 3 bar to reach a better performance. The equipment is simple and advanced. The cyclone pipe is made of ceramics which is durable and efficient.
